Invest in Amotio and revolutionise revision surgery
Revision joint surgery represents a large and expanding global market with a clear, and currently unmet, need for improved tools and techniques.
Meeting a global, growing need
The joint replacement market is expanding rapidly with the aging population and increased demand for mobility worldwide.
- • Across 13 captured markets approximately 72,000 cemented femoral revision procedures are performed annually.
- • Within the largest single market, the United States, approximately 43,000 cemented and hybrid revision hip arthroplasties take place each year.
And demand is growing due to two main factors:
- • The global population aged 60+ is projected to reach 1.4 billion by 2030, with the World Health Organisation predicting it will rise to 2.1 billion by 2050.
- • Younger patients undergoing joint replacement are likely to require more revisions across their lifetimes.
Together, these factors underpin sustained and long-term growth in the volume of revision surgeries performed annually – supporting a global market worth up to $2bn.
Progress
We have made strong early progress towards commercial readiness, having already raised £1.6m with support from leading UK investors and clinical collaborators.
We’re now seeking £1.5m seed investment to scale our technology.

This investment round marks a significant value inflection point for Amotio as we move towards commercial readiness. Our priorities are:
- • Advancing a low-risk regulatory pathway to market
- • Delivering seamless integration into existing surgical practice
- • Building towards sustainable revenue from 2027
Regulatory and commercial pathway
FDA Class I
Amotio’s innovative precision-guided surgical technology will qualify for an FDA Class I classification, enabling a streamlined route to the US market without the extended clinical requirements associated with higher-risk device categories.
Commercial Readiness
This pathway supports a clear timeline to commercial readiness, with initial US revenue generation expected in 2027.
